CO-WORKERS TRUST
The Trustees of the CRT also serve as trustees of the Camphill Co-workers' Trust. The Co-workers Trust was established by the Camphill Association of North America to benefit co-workers from participating Camphill Communities. Any Camphill Community that is a member of the Camphill Association of North America can elect to participate in the plan. Co-workers who are members or full time residents of participating Camphill communities for three consecutive years are eligible to participate in the plan.
The amount of plan contributions and allocation among eligible co-workers is determined by each participating Camphill Community. A separate trust account is established by the CRT for each co-worker for whom a contribution is made under the plan. Co-workers are immediately vested in the funds in their accounts as soon as contributions are made to the trust account. Co-workers can withdraw funds from their trust account for any reason provided that the minimum withdrawal is $5,000. As a general rule contributions that are made to the Co-workers' Trust are subject to tax to the eligible co-workers as earned income at the time that contributions are made to the plan and withdrawals are not subject to tax.
Co-workers who are residents of participating Camphill Communities and are interested in receiving more information about the Co-workers' Trust should make a request to their community to provide them with a copy of the Summary Plan Description for the Camphill Co-workers' Trust.
